Lalo restaurant located in the Roma neighborhood of Mexico City.  It is one of the restaurants of chef Eduardo Garcia who also owns Maximo Bistro across the street.  Lalo is a breakfast and lunch diner, that I had breakfast at during my first day in Mexico City.  I’ve said before and I’ll say it again just in case you haven’t read some of my other reviews.  Mexico food is one of if not my favorite cuisine, and breakfast just happens to be my favorite meal of the day.  Combine those together and you get dishes like Huevos Rancheros and Chilaquiles.  You just can’t get good Chilaquiles in Utah, so when I was in Mexico City, I tried to have them every day!

Chilaquiles here are so good I want to cry.  Sautéed tortilla chips in chile sauce and garnished with eggs, cheese, and avocado.  So simple but yet so incredibly good.  Man I want to be back in Mexico right now!

Of course Lalo doesn’t play fair, they brought around a basket of goodies and this koeing aman caught my eye so I picked it up.  It was amazing of course.  I ended up eating at Lalo two times, and each time being special.  Lalo and/or Maximo Bistro is going to be on my agenda every single trip.  Chef Eduardo Garcia is awesome too.  The first time I met him being a stranger he offered to take me to breakfast in Mexico City the next day.  It was an  awesome experience.
