Potbellys Sandwich Shop

Potbellys Sandwich Shop

As promised, here is my review on the second sandwich shop to open up along 5600 W and 2700 S this month.  Potbelly’s also has a location opening in Sugar House.  It only took one visit to Potbelly’s to really enjoy them.  They are going to be in my rotation for local quick sandwiches.

The Menu

The Menu

The first thing that stood out to me on the menu were the prices.  There wasn’t anything up there more than around $5-$7.  You can build your own sandwich or order from a pre-selected menu.  I liked how they had a “pizza sandwich”  I hope I’m not the only parent out there that has kids that only want to eat cheeseburgers or pizza when you take them out to eat.  They could have named the pizza sandwich any other name, and my kids would have ignored it, but because it had “pizza” in the title.  They got really excited about it.  What’s even better is they actually really enjoyed it.

Grilled Chicken

Grilled Chicken

I went with the grilled chicken on top of their white bread.  It was just the right size and delicious.  The sandwiches are prepared with the hot ingredients and then sent through a toaster oven, and finally topped with the cold toppings.  Almost reminded me of Quizno’s in the setup and flow.

The Wreck

My wife went with The Wreck.  As you can see, there is plenty of meat and veggies.  Just because the sandwiches are cheap, doesn’t mean they are “cheap”.  Potbelly Sandwich Shop is a good value.

Shakes and Pina Coladas

Shakes and Pina Coladas

As a bonus, you can even order a hand scooped shake or pina colada.  I was in Puerto Rico earlier this year where I had about 5-6 pina coladas a day.  This one was as good as any I’ve had over there.  It was delicious as was my Oreo shake.

Dream Bar

Dream Bar

Finally every sandwich shop has to have something sweet to top off your meal.  This is where Jimmy John’s fails miserably as their cookies are disgusting.  Potbelly’s has nice cookies and a little hybrid model called the Dream Bar.

I recommend and endorse Potbelly’s.  Loved the prices, quality, and service!
