Yan’s Kitchen

Yan’s Kitchen Hunan Cuisine has a great location in San Francisco.  Our family took one of the sigh seeing buses that pick up tourists from Pier 39 as they take folks up past China Town and the financial district, and then on to Golden Gate park and the bridge, and past through the Presidio neighborhood.  We decided to get off on one of the first stops of the site seeing bus, which left us right in front of Yan’s.  With its location on the edge of Chinatown and right next to the bus stop where people gather to wait to board the next sight-seeing bus, Yan’s gets a fair amount of traffic.  On my last trip to S.F this is exactly what happened.  I got a little hungry while waiting for the bus so I decided to pop in and try something quick and easy from the menu.

I went with the Shanghai dumplings and a few egg rolls.  Boy were these things delicious!

I liked how the dumplings were lightly fried up, and how the pork and veggie mixture inside was fresh and tasted made in-house.  The sweet and sour sauce, although generic was mighty tasty.

From the perspective of the S.F tourist like myself, I found Yan’s to be assessable, cheap, and tasty.  You can get the sight seeing bus schedule here.  I would also recommend looking into the San Francisco Go Card here.
