Tushar

Do you want amazing Brazilian grilled meats, delicious salads, and exotic juices, but don’t feel like paying $50 dollars downtown to get it?  Then you should try the new Tushar Brazilian Express in South Jordan.  The staff was amazing, the space was clean and quiet, and the food was delicious.  My group tried everything from the beef, chicken and pork to the fried bananas, to the Brazilian Lemonade and custom-made juices, and everything was top-notch.

One thing that stood out to me were the prices.  For less than $10 bucks you can get a skewer of grilled meat along with three large sides.  They have two different types of rice, some of the best black beans I’ve ever had, an incredible broccoli salad, and delicious fried bananas.

The Brazilian Lemonade tasted like others I have tried at other places in the valley.  Everytime I eat at a Brazilian place, I make it a point to order one.  The Tushar is a house made juice with delicious fruits like passion fruit inside.  We all wanted to try it, but it became a problem because no one wanted to share once they tried for themselves.  The price tag is at $4 bucks, but the quality and taste, that is a steal of a deal.

I went with the beef skewer accompanied by rice, black beans, and fried bananas.  There wasn’t anything here that I wasn’t impressed with, but the sides actually were the highlight of the plate.  The black beans had chunks of meat mixed in, and it really gave them a good flavor.  I took a few bites, and then poured the rest of them over my rice.  The fried bananas were an absolute revelation.  They had a cinnamon flavored crunchy coating on the outside.  It was pretty much a dessert disguised as a side dish.

The broccoli salad was the highlight of this plate.  I don’t find myself extolling the flavor of broccoli too often, but I have to make an exception with this stuff.  The almost gave it a nice crunch and texture.  The chicken was awesome, I liked it a bit more than the beef and pork.

Pork and Grilled Cheese

Pork and Grilled Cheese

For a few bucks extra you can get a few pieces of grilled cheese.  Here we have a plate with some cheese along with the marinated pork.  You really owe it to yourself to try the grilled cheese!

There was just a lot of great things going on here not to want to come back.  Our entirely table unanimously approve of Tushar.  It’s great food and fast at affordable prices.
