The Philly Cheesesteak. Grilled meat, with melted cheese on toasted bread. A true work of art. DP Cheesesteaks downtown in downtown SLC serves up a variety of these classic sandwiches and does them right. There are also a number of signs that tell you these things are legit. Sign #1 is below.
Pennsylvania Dutch Birch Beer is amazing. I would compare it to a sharp cream soda, not quite Root Beer and not quite Cream Soda. The taste is amazing and seems to be perfectly crafted for a grilled meat sandwich. Sign #2 these guys are legit….
You will notice in the bottom right hand corner of the picture boxes of the Philly legendary “Tasty Kakes” . All you lovers of the now deceased Twinkie can take comfort that you have actually been missing out on a much tastier creme filled delight. Birch Beer and Tasty Kakes. Yep I believe it was safe for me to call these guys legit.
Now the original cheesesteaks makers out East put Cheese Whiz on their sandwiches. I’ve never been a fan of that cheese, and as you might guess, there are others in Salt Lake City who share the same viewpoint. Luckily DP has a number of different varieties you can choose from. Check out the beautiful bell peppers I had them add to mine! Mushrooms? Onions? No problem! They even have a pizza cheesesteak.
Another thing I liked about DP Cheesesteak is how they don’t skimp out on the meat on these sandwiches. I don’t want to get a sandwich and have my first bite be all bread and no protein. You won’t have that problem when you come here. There isn’t some dude in the back who is weighing out the portions on a tiny scale. DP will do you right.
As far as taste goes, these sandwiches are top-notch. I’m a little bit biased because the Philly Cheesesteak is one of my favorite all-time foods. I would definitely put these guys in the top 3 of best cheesesteaks in SLC. Keep an eye out for Groupon as these guys use them quite often.
