Cubby’s Chicago Beef

I learned a valuable lesson growing up in Omaha, Nebraska as a young adolescent.  One of my fondest memories of Omaha was Austin’s Steakhouse.  There was a huge cow head right by the highway outside the restaurant.  I remember thinking that if a place had a huge cow head sign by their restaurant, then that meant they probably knew how to prepare cow meat...

Rubio’s Fresh Mexican

Rubio’s Fresh Mexican

I’m kind of drifting into new territory with this post.   There are two things that I really don’t do a lot of, and they are A – I don’t do many national chains, only local places, and B – I don’t do many places that do seafood.  I’m breaking with traditional a bit with this story because I think Rubio’s Fresh...

Siragusa’s Taste of Italy

Siragusa’s Taste of Italy

Oct 13, 2012

I love me some Italian food.  Seems like good Italian food is tough to come by in Salt Lake City.  Mexican restaurants are a dime a dozen in this town.  You can get a street taco pretty much anywhere, but if you want some decent pasta or lasagna, then your options are limited.  That is why when I read about Siragusa’s in Taylorsville recently and the good...

Frida Bistro

Frida Bistro

I’ve been excited to come visit Frida Bistro ever since I tried their Salpicon at Farmer’s Market a few Saturdays ago.  Salpicon is made of a chilled shredded beef, panella cheese, jalapeno, carrots, and avocado.  It was by far, the best thing I tried or sampled that day at Farmer’s market.  As I was sampling the salpicon, I noticed some...
